Summarized feedback from Bass Anglers

Reasons to buy

  • Aluminum housing which is light but strong
  • Extremely lightweight and smooth running reel
  • Durable, tough reel that should last you years if treated well
  • Comfortable with casting lures of all weights and some say it even specializes in casting lighter presentations
  • Users commend the SV spool highly, saying that it works very well with the magnetic braking system - making it possible to cast all kinds of lures even in windy conditions
  • SV spool is great for skipping baits under docks, as well as casting lighter lures in general
  • T-Wing System has become a hugely popular feature among Daiwa fans - it promotes further casting and more organized line lay
  • This reel will work beautifully in both freshwater and salt water
  • Adjustments on the braking system are easy and efficient, making this a newcomer-friendly baitcasting reel

Reasons not to buy

  • Some users prefer the build quality of a Curado, but this is purely a matter of taste
  • Spool tension knob is a bit "stubby" and hard to grab
  • This is a reasonably expensive reel and may not suit those on a tight budget

Picked up one of these a while ago and love using it for more finesse presentations. Casts weightless lures with ease and overall, is very smooth. Absolutely love the SV spool and air brake system.

I have always been a Shimano guys but decided to give Daiwa a go with the Tatula SV TW. Absolute dream of a reel. It's light, smooth and casts lures of any weight an absolute mile. Just as good as the Curado DC in my opinion.

This SV spool is crazy. Skipping baits is easy with this reel and I used to struggle big time doing so. Looking to add another.

Bottom Line

The Tatula SV TW is another highly rated reel used by many experienced anglers. Many users love the SV spool combined with the magnetic braking system, as it gives them to ability to cast all lures with precision and minimal chance of backlash. The SV spool is also particularly good when it comes to throwing light baits and for skipping.

This is another reel we highly recommend if you have a reasonable budget.
